Vista El Mar - Newsletter 1 (April 2007)

hello, friends, Vista El Mar students and newcomers.

First things first, congratulations to Aaron Elfleet and Nick Sheldrake for completing their open water course Saturday the 24th March at Gildenburg Water, Whittlesey on what was a chilly day and the water a cool 7 degrees.

The dry suit orientations took place and the other participents are now ready for their open water dives.

The Malta trip is on with 8 people taking part, running from Sat. 5th to Wed. 9th May, I will post the photos and trip details on line on our return.

We have a pool session on the 14th April that is I am afraid, full.

Future events

I will be planning the next pool day for mid May on either a Sat. or Sun. as this seems the best time for most people to attend, we need at least 4-5 to make it worth while, anyone interested please let me know by e-mail.

I have had a few people ask me about an advanced open water course. What we will do is run a couple of courses here in the summer July-August time when things warm up a bit, again let me know by e-mail if you are interested.

The Enriched Air course and Emergencey First Response courses will run at a later date as I only had one student for each. Again, let me know by e-mail if you would like to tag on to them.

Long term we are thinking about another Malta trip or Grand Caneria and round about November time, a Red Sea trip, but i need numbers in order to get the best prices if there are enough we could take a live aboard.

I now have merchandise!!!!! T-shirts at £10, polo shirts at £21 and cups at £6.50. I will post a section on the site as soon as i get some photos together.

The shark dive I mentioned in the last newsletter, didn't have much response so I will leave it a couple of months and see if there is any further interest in it.

Finally if you are reading this and fancy any of the courses on offer drop me an e-mail at rex@vistaelmar.com, you dont have to be a student of the school as everyone is welcome.

Stay safe

Rex
